2009 (“Keeping It Simple”)

This was a funny year in regards to my thinking about the light show.  Of course, not much happened during the first half of the year and in June I attended the first West Coast Christmas Light show conference and expo, which I had a small hand in planning.  I created a Facebook Fan page for Breton Lights and everything seemed on track.  Then I got tired of it all.  Doing the show has prevented us from traveling on both Thanksgiving and Christmas break for the past 3 years.  Adding the snow machine, fountains, and white batting on the lawn in 2008 was exhausting.  I just didn’t feel like it any more.  As we worked through possible vacation plans, and as we got closer to October, I felt the pull, started to think about all the people who come to see the lights, and began to remember how much I love doing it.  So, we’re on for this years show but we are going to keep it simple with just a few changes.  Here’s our current plans.

  1. Break 25,000 lights!

  2. Add add least one new song

  3. New mega tree topper / star

  4. New roof lights
(white, red, blue, green, & purple)

Here are our goals for this year:

  1. Bullet25,000+ Lights

  2. Bullet200+ Strings

  3. Bullet100 Extension cords
