2008 (“Let it snow”)
We started thinking about the 2008 show as we took down the lights from the 2007 show on January 1st. We have several ideas and are already testing some of them out. It’s a bit early for details, as some of our ideas are still up in the air, but here is a list of some of the things we are thinking about.
-
•Break 20,000 lights!
-
•Add some more songs, and maybe drop the slower ones from last year
-
•Maybe include some form of viewer / show interaction
-
•Water effects
-
•Add dedicated circuits and upgrade the lighting controllers to 2x20 amp each
-
•Add another 16 channel light controller bringing us to a total of 48 channels
-
•Lastly, we are thinking about not giving out candy canes this year and instead we’ll be working with Twin Lakes Food Bank collect canned food for the hungry. oh ok, we’ll likely give out candy canes too!
Here are our goals for this year:
-
20,000+ Lights -
100+ Strings -
80 Extension cords -
60 Amps (6600 watts) -
20 Songs -
Collect canned food
Here’s the current status / final results: -
21,836 lights -
149 strings plus Star, Presents, Nativity, Snowman, Penguins, and Drums -
95 Extension cords -
91 Amps / 10,992 watts (if everything is on at once) -
Costs about $5.15 a week to run the show -
18 Songs -
3 Inflatables -
1440 Candy Canes, so far (Started with 10 boxes of 12 and 5 boxes of 100 minis. Added 10 more boxes of 12 and 7 more boxes of 100 minis on 12/17/2008)
