2007 (“double everything”)
Work on the 2007 plans began during the 2006 show. One of the 1st things I noticed I “needed” was a better FM transmitter. I had borrowed a friends Belkin mp3 player FM adaptor, which worked, but just barley to the end of the drive way. This issue had already been rectified via the purchase of a Ramsey FM30B. I also noticed that my little laminated radio station sign just didn’t cut it. This year we’ll post the station as well as other info on a new multi color reader board.
But the most significant changes for 2007 are the plans to “double everything”. We’ve already added another 16 channel controller from Light-O-Rama and setup both controllers for wireless connectivity back to the PC.
Here are our goals:
-
11,500 Lights
(we’ll try to break 12,000) -
78 Strings -
70 Extensions cords -
26 Amps (4322 watts) -
10 Songs -
>200 free candy canes
Here’s the current status / final results:
-
14,427 -
85 Strings + snowman, penguins, drums, presents, train, snowflakes, & nativity -
61 Extensions cords -
47 Amps (5649 watts) -
16 Songs -
We started with 200 and then added another 100 full sized candy canes in bags with “thank you card” from the Breton Family and an “invite card” to Harbor Church. We then switched to mini candy canes and gave away another 200. After those where gone, we put out a mixture of 120 full sized and 300 mini sized candy canes. Grand total: 920!
